GIS Community Education Resources

The Gambling Impact Society (NSW) Inc. is pleased to be able to bring you two more interesting educational resources for distribution in June/July. We want to get the information out there so we aim to distribute them free to CCBF Gambling Services and our members. However your support for our work in developing educational resources would be appreciated so those who have not joined we would welcome your membership.

The Women & Gambling Information Kit is an 80 page community education resource manual developed by Karen Richardson & Kate Roberts (with funding support from the NSW Department for Women).

Services01.jpg

It is a compilation of handouts, help sheets and articles which Karen & Kate researched for the More to Life program and used to support the group meetings along with other information which they feel is relevant to all people who gamble but particularly women. It is aimed at those looking for easily accessible information for clients, groups and members of the general public.

Less than Even - the hidden costs of gambling is a new Australian community education video (38 minutes) (funding support provided by the NSW Government through the Casino Community Benefit Fund) which aims to provide both an overview of gambling in Australia and the impacts of problem gambling on the community, individuals, and families. Along with tips on strategies to assist those affected and information on where to find further help, this video provides a unique insight through the eyes of gambling counsellors, individuals and families affected by problem gambling. It is suitable as a resource to support public information sessions & training sessions as well as support groups and individual work with people affected by problem gambling.
