Problem Gambling Training Program

Free Training for Counsellors & Community

The Responsible Gambling Fund has provided financial assistance to the Centre for Community Welfare Training (CCWT) the training arm of the association of Children's Welfare Agencies (ACWA) to develop and deliver a series of free training programs for problem gambling counsellors, financial counsellors and community welfare workers. CCWT is also running open programs for the general community and community/welfare workers.

These programs are designed to provide skills training for problem gambling specialists along with those who may come across people experiencing difficulties with gambling in their work. The general programs include: Lifting the Lid on Gambling In Australia Today and Understanding Problem Gambling, both of which are aimed at those who have little knowledge about the context of gambling in Australia or problem gambling in particular.

The programs run throughout the year, currently in Sydney although there may be some flexibility to provide training in regional centres if sufficient interest.

A calendar of training is available from the Centre by contacting CCWT on 9281 8822 or email ccwt@acwa.asn.au, or visit http://www.acwa.asn.au/course_details_DL_only.php?recid=791

Manager for this program is Louise Mulroney
